On January 22, 2026, Delitek took part in the Sortland Career Fair at Blåbyhallen, organised by the Vesterålen Apprenticeship Training Office (Opplæringskontoret i Vesterålen). With around 50 companies represented and approximately 750 students attending from lower secondary and upper secondary schools, the event became a strong meeting point between local industry and young people exploring their next steps.
For Delitek, showing up at events like this is about more than being present—it’s about being visible in the local community, creating awareness of who we are, and helping students understand what opportunities exist locally. Career choices can feel big, especially early on. Meeting real people from real workplaces can make those choices feel more concrete, realistic, and inspiring.
Why Delitek prioritises career fairs
Career fairs give us a chance to talk directly with students who are curious, undecided, or already motivated to pursue vocational pathways. Many students know they enjoy practical work, technology, manufacturing, or solving real-world problems—but they don’t always know which local companies do what, or what different roles actually look like day to day.
Delitek attended the fair with a clear purpose:
to build local visibility and share what Delitek does—naturally supporting future recruitment, especially through apprenticeship opportunities.
When students can ask questions, see examples, and get honest answers, it becomes easier to connect school choices with future jobs. That’s why we value being approachable and present—so students can explore possibilities without pressure.
Who represented Delitek
Delitek was represented by:
- Mads Lind, Sales Manager
- Espen Dreyer, Production Manager
Together, they showcased both customer- and market-facing perspectives and the realities of production. That combination helped students see the broader picture of how different roles work together—and how skills can develop over time within a company.
What we talked about with students
Once students feel comfortable, their questions often become very specific. At the fair, we had many good conversations around:
- Who Delitek is: what we deliver, how we work, and why quality and precision matter.
- What happens in production: how practical work and technical understanding go hand in hand, and how people learn step by step.
- Pathways into working life: how vocational programmes, trade certification, and apprenticeships work in practice.
- What we value in future colleagues: curiosity, reliability, teamwork, and a willingness to learn—plus the reassurance that it’s normal not to have everything figured out yet.
Our core message was simple:
You don’t need all the answers right now—but it pays to explore early.
Apprenticeships that strengthen the local community
Apprenticeships are more than a recruitment channel—they are an investment in local competence, long-term capability, and regional value creation. Early contact between companies and students can help:
- set realistic expectations about working life
- motivate more students to pursue vocational qualifications
- keep talent local by showing meaningful opportunities close to home
For Delitek, apprenticeships are a natural part of our long-term approach. It’s about giving young people a solid start while building the skills the region needs for the future.
Thank you for the conversations
A big thank you to the organisers, the schools, and—most importantly—the students who visited our stand. The engagement, curiosity, and thoughtful questions showed how much potential there is in the next generation in Vesterålen.
If you’re a student and want to learn more about Delitek or what an apprenticeship pathway can look like, speak with your school counsellor and keep an eye on our channels for updates and opportunities.
