Delitek selected to supply food and dry waste systems for Sea1 Offshore’s newbuild ST-245 vessels

About Delitek

Delitek is a market-leading manufacturer and supplier of complete waste management systems for the maritime and offshore-related industry

Delitek has been selected as supplier of the food and dry waste management systems for a new series of Offshore Energy Support Vessels (OESV) for Sea1 Offshore. The four vessels are based on the Skipsteknisk ST-245 design and will be built at COSCO Shipping (Qidong) Offshore in China.

The contract covers complete waste handling packages for:

  • Hull 1338 – “Sea1 Diamond” (first vessel, with steel cutting started September 2025)
  • Hull 1339 – TBN (to be named)
  • Hull 1350 – TBN
  • Hull 1351 – TBN

With this delivery, Delitek supports Sea1 Offshore’s strategy of operating a modern, energy-efficient and environmentally responsible fleet serving both oil & gas and renewable markets.

Strong project partners: owner, yard and designer

Sea1 Offshore is a leading owner and operator of offshore support vessels with global operations and a strong focus on health, safety, environment and quality. Its fleet is designed for complex offshore operations across both traditional oil & gas and the growing renewable energy segment.

The four new vessels will be constructed at COSCO Shipping (Qidong) Offshore, one of COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry’s major offshore yards. The facility in Qidong offers extensive capacity for complex offshore projects, with large dock and quay areas dedicated to offshore vessels, rigs and production units.

The ships are based on the Skipsteknisk ST-245 OESV design, developed specifically for offshore energy support. The ST-245 platform offers a combination of large open deck area, accommodation capacity and advanced offshore capabilities, tailored to serve both subsea construction and renewable energy operations.

Scope of supply: integrated food and dry waste systems

For this project, Delitek delivers a complete waste management package designed to ensure safe, efficient and regulation-compliant handling of both food and dry waste on board.

Food waste system – DeliVac-912 with Disperator disposers

Each vessel will be equipped with a DeliVac-912 Food Waste System, including:

  • Disperator 575MC food waste disposer
  • Disperator 550HK food waste disposer

The DeliVac-912 system provides a vacuum-based collection and transport solution from galley feeding stations to a central food waste tank. In combination with the Disperator disposers, this creates a closed, hygienic and user-friendly system for the crew, reducing manual handling and exposure to organic waste.

Key benefits for the ST-245 vessels include:

  • Efficient collection of food waste from multiple galley points
  • Reduced odour and spill risk thanks to a closed vacuum system
  • A solution that supports compliance with MARPOL Annex V requirements for food waste handling and discharge procedures

Dry waste systems – compacting, shredding and glass handling

For dry waste, Delitek will supply a tailored package based on proven marine equipment from its DT-series:

  • DT-200MC Waste Compactor
    • For compacting mixed dry waste and selected recyclable fractions
    • Reduces volume and optimises storage in dedicated C-200 containers
  • DT-230SR Shredder
    • For size reduction of cardboard, paper and light packaging materials
    • Facilitates more efficient use of compactor capacity and storage space
  • DT-200GC Glass Crusher
    • Reduces glass bottles to a safe, granular fraction
    • Minimises risk of injury and cuts storage volume for glass waste

To provide additional flexibility, each vessel will also receive 3 extra C-200 waste containers. These containers allow the crew to organise waste streams according to the vessel’s garbage management plan and to adapt to different port and client requirements.

Together, the food and dry waste systems form a complete onboard waste handling solution, from galley and accommodation areas to central storage and offloading.

Designed for demanding offshore energy operations

The ST-245 OESV series is designed to support complex offshore operations, including subsea construction and services to offshore wind and traditional energy projects. In such operations, vessels often work with large crews and extended project durations, leading to significant waste volumes.

Delitek’s package for these vessels is therefore designed to:

  • Reduce waste volume and free up valuable storage space on board
  • Support safe and ergonomic handling for the crew
  • Enhance environmental performance, aligning with the sustainability ambitions of Sea1 Offshore and charterers
  • Simplify logistics when offloading waste in different ports with varying reception facilities

The equipment is designed for maritime use, with robust materials and layouts that support long-term operation in harsh offshore environments.

Supporting Sea1 Offshore’s long-term fleet strategy

For Sea1 Offshore, the new ST-245 vessels represent an important step in building a versatile, energy-efficient fleet capable of serving both oil & gas and renewables. The choice of Delitek underlines a focus on high-quality, crew-friendly and future-ready waste systems as part of that strategy.

For Delitek, the project is a confirmation of its position as a specialist supplier of maritime food and dry waste systems to advanced offshore vessels worldwide.
