Dewatering system
Dewatering systems are designed to separate water from food waste by removing water content, allowing for the separation and collection of food waste pulp for further processing and disposal.
Go to productsBy implementing a dewatering system for food waste management onboard ships, several benefits can be realized. Firstly, a dewatering machine reduces the water content and leads to a more concentrated waste product, thereby optimizing storage space and facilitating easier handling and disposal. The dewatered food waste pulp can be processed further through a vacuum packing machine or stored in refrigerated waste storage units to prevent bacteria growth and ensure safe storage.
A dewatering machine can be seamlessly integrated into DeliGrav or DeliVac food waste systems to enhance their efficiency.
It is crucial to note that the reject water from the dewatering system is classified as food waste according to Marpol Annex V regulations. Therefore, it must not be mixed with greywater or any other waste streams. To ensure compliance with regulations, the reject water can be stored in a separate holding tank designated specifically for food waste or disposed of at sea in accordance with Marpol Annex V guidelines.
